Elementary
The Elementary Program offers multi-age, multi-grade classrooms that are kept small and individualized. Teachers assess students to acquire specific data leading to a Strategic Academic Plan and behavioral program that will allow the students to grow and thrive. From individual instruction to whole group education with Smart Boards, students are able to find a nurturing environment where they are accepted and reinforced to increase their skills. Utilizing ABA strategies, Verbal Behavior, and reality therapy strategies, the teachers apply their skills to provide the highest quality education.
Elementary school is often a frightening place for students with Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. The anxiety of the unexpected can lead to melt downs and a lower level of learning gains. At The Monarch School, our first goal is to reduce the anxiety of our students through relationship building, use of the sensory room, guided social skills instruction, and behavioral plans as necessary.
Our teachers strongly believe in the neurology of learning, and work to assist students by recognizing learning styles and building rapport and trust with students.
